New development plan for Palm Jebel Ali

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, on Wednesday approved a new master plan for Palm Jebel Ali, a luxury lifestyle mega project that will cover twice the size of the Palm Jumeirah.

The long-planned tourist attraction, spearheaded by leading developer Nakheel, will feature 80 hotels and resorts, green spaces and other leisure, housing and retail facilities in an area of 13.4 square meters. km.

The project will add about 110 km of coastline to Dubai, providing opportunities for 35,000 families to live on the coast.

The project is part of the Dubai City Master Plan 2040 presented by Sheikh Mohammed last year.
